The passion

No hall is complete without its special committees. In Hall 5, we have 5 special committees to make Life in Five more vibrant. Each of the committees has their own specialties and characteristics, all aiming to serve the same purpose of making Hall life more diverse and enjoyable.

Dinner and Dance

Dinner & Dance

One of the traditions at NTU Hall of Residence Five is the annual Dinner & Dance. The Dinner & Dance Committee, which is part of the Special Committee family, is at work to plan and execute a D&D that is both invigorating and unforgettable for the residences of Hall Five. The D&D serves to strengthen the bond between seniors and juniors; and at the same time allow the residents to let their hair down and party the night away. The highlight of the D&D is of course the birth of the new Hall King and Hall Queen. This year’s Annual Dinner & Dance is a highly anticipated event that will sure delight one and all.

Orientation Committee - H.A.V.O.C

Hall 5 Orientation Committee is affectionately known as HAVOC. Because, yes you guessed it! We do wreak havoc during camp! A team of close to 30 of us work for a whole school year just to give our freshmen a fun-filled 5-day camp. A word of advice to the freshies: Come join our Freshmen Orientation Camp! Have fun, get dirty and make those friends before they're gone! We promise it'll be 5 days you won't regret.

Quintsical Production
Quintsical Productions

Quintsical Productions, also commonly known as QP, was established in 1993 as one of the four special and active committees in Hall of Residence Five. As the pioneer hall in staging our very own full-scale original musicals, QP has earned a longstanding reputation and fostered a culture of nurturing talented crew members as well as competent actors and singers. The preparation work is entirely done from scratch – for example, writing the script, training cast members, composing original songs and building sets and props.

Twenty-one Young Hearts
Twenty-One Young Hearts

Founded just last year(2010), Twenty-one Young Hearts was formed with the vision to touch the hearts of our beneficiaries and community both locally and abroad. In the past year, the committee hosted fortnightly visits to a local student service centre where Fivers befriended the primary school children through games and activities.

vikings
Vikings-Hall 5 Cheerleading

Vikings, the cheerleading team of NTU Hall of Residence 5, is currently into its 4th year this year. As a very young cheerleading team, the primary objective for setting up Vikings is to spread the cheerleading culture in Hall 5. Contrary to what most people think, cheerleading is a sport that requires courage, passion and lots of teamwork. Vikings participates in the annual Hall Olympiad Opening Ceremony (Cheerleading Competition) and achieved our best ranking of 9th in 2010/2011. Currently a 22-man team, Vikings continues to seek improvement in the upcoming HOOC 2011/2012
