Exam Supper

posted by admin

Exam supper was the last event of our hall for the semester. Besides free yummy food like pastries and laoban, residents also received welfare packs that were filled to the brim with goodness (goodies). The event was celebrated in the water festival style, where residents sprayed water to each other as a symbol of good luck for the upcoming exams. Hope everyone had a good time chilling and destress-ing with the waterbombs, yummy food and awesome companions. Now it is time to mug hard and aim for CGPA 5.0. Good luck!

IHRG Chinese Chess

What a day for our Hall 4 Chinese Chess team! In these preliminary rounds, our members utilised their wits, tactics and skills to stand their ground against the opponents. With each game lasting close to an hour, it is of little wonder to see our members thoroughly exhausted after every match. Nevertheless, they displayed great teamwork by utilising their breaks to practice and discuss tactics for their next game. While it was truly wonderful to see such enthusiasm from our Chinese Chess team, it was a great pity that they were eliminated from the semi-finals due to stiff competition from the other halls.

Our softball guys team was pitched against Hall 7. It was the first time at the annual games for almost half of the team. Our team had a good start but ultimately, experience came into play and our very strong opponents proved too strong and our defense gave way. In the Loser Pool, they were matched against Hall 3, another strong opponent. The boys kept their spirits up and improved overall in terms of their fielding and this helped them to hold their opponents down better than they did in the morning. Good job to the guys who fought and trained hard, we will come back stronger and better next year!

Our hall celebrated Christmas early on the 17th of December, in our own special way called - HAVOC (Have A Very Ohmer Christmas). The function room was decorated with pretty Christmas hats and soon when the crowd came in at 7pm, the room was filled with laughters and jolly spirit. The event started off with a buffet-style dinner, featuring cheesy seaweed fries and carbonara pasta from Flying Pan. Then, the emcees (Sarah Almodiel and Linette Ong) led the crowd in two very simple yet made-fun-with-fun-people games which were musical chair and treasure hunt! The winners won themselves yummy Zacaroons specially baked by our very own fellow Ohmer Zac. Last but not least, some of our lucky residents even got their wishes come true as they received presents that they hoped for. Thank you to all the residents who came down, hope everyone enjoyed themselves for the night and look forward to our next Chinese New Year event! Also not forgetting to thank our social committee for putting up this enjoyable event!
