Squash Semi-Finals
There is a Semi Final Squash Match at 2pm today. Did I heard wrongly? No. Our hall ten squash team has reach semi final, hurray! Today our squash team will compete against hall 2. Hall 2 has a very strong side, out of their 5 players, four of them are either IVP players or ex. IVP players, and the other one is a tennis player.
The first match starts at about 2.30pm. It is a IVP versus IVP match. Hall 2 sends in their ex. IVP player and we send in ours also. It is a close fight, both side are equally skilled, and the score is close. Our first player apparently has better stamina and he takes the advantage and wins the first round 9-7. The second round ended with hall 2 winning 9-4.The third round is the exciting round, at one point our side is winning 7-3, but the opponent is equally determined to win the match, their player fight back hard and chase the score back to 7-7. The “battle” was so intense that their player broke his shoes and causes the game to pause for a few minutes. The “battle” continues, we lost this round 9-7 den lost the subsequent one 9-0.
For the second match, they send in another female IVP player, our side lost to them 9-2, 9-2, 9-2. For the third match, our player fought hard, but yet still lost the game, 9-3, 9-1, 9-1.
We lost the game. But our hall players are real sportsmen, they insist on playing the forth match. This was a friendly match with both side gaining much experiences.
We might have lost the game, but we are proud of ourselves and happy that we have reached the SEMI final. Well done!
