SM3 Camp

The Senior Middle Three (SM3) camp is organized by the Student Union for students from China who had finished their Senior Middle 3rd grade examination and will be studying in NTU after a semester of Bridging Course. MOE has approached CF to be involved in this camp to act as a bridge in integrating the SM3 students into Singapore and the NTU local community. CF-ers will take on the role of befrienders, programmers and being part of the welfare sub-coms. In addition, as one of NTU-CF’s collaborations with a non-religious club, the camp will enable CFers to explore what it means for Christians and non-Christians to work hand-in-hand to achieve a common goal. CF will organize post camp activities following the SM3 camp to continue the friendships made during the camp and also to carry on helping the students to integrate in the Singapore culture.

English Speaking Corner is a post-SM3 camp activity for the SM3 students. The purpose of this programme is firstly to help the SM3 students in their conversational English and secondly to carry on the friendships that had been established during the camp itself. By encouraging and creating more opportunities for interactions between the SM3 students and CF-ers, it serves as a way to establish mutual understanding of cultures, practices and attitudes. Through ESC, CF-ers are encouraged to be more open-minded in interacting with people from a different culture and to live out ‘the love for neighbours’ in our life on campus.
