The Janitor’s project(JP) is a combined project undertaken by CGs from ECF, CCF and ISCF. This project aims to provide an avenue where CF-ers are encouraged to show their love to the janitors on campus who have served the school and halls faithfully. The Outreach Coordinators of each section will work together to assign a specific area of the school for the respective CG to visit. Each CG will prepare gift packs to be given to the janitors to show our love, care and sincerity in making friendships with them. Prior to the visit, CGLs will be briefed on certain FAQs that will guide them in engaging the janitors in conversations and will in turn brief their CGMs. Through this experience, we hope that CF-ers will learn about the janitors, including their concerns, needs and how we can care for them. This project is likely to take place once per semester.
The Janitor’s Appreciation Project(JAP) will be held in Semester 2 as a continuation of Janitor’s Project. It aims to create a sense of awareness among the students of NTU about the need to show appreciation to communities in campus that may have been frequently neglected in the hustle and bustle of schooling days. Last year, this project took the form of an exhibition booth over 3 days and a High Tea programme on the last day where students can get to know the lives of the janitors in school by viewing a video, reading the exhibition boards and interacting with the janitors during the High tea. Students were also given the chance to show their appreciation for the janitors by writing thank you notes on the appreciation boards. This project is a partnership between Rotaract Club, NTU-CF and possibly the Welfare Services Club this year.
